If you have based your business model on a listing in the ODP, then I'm afraid you will need to reexamine it. As it states in the ODP charter, no site is garanteed a listing.

In it's current form, the site is completely unlistable. We can not go into the details of why, or what you need to do to make it listable. If this is something you want to follow up further, I would suggest you go to some of the many forums dedicated to web masters and ask there - maybe they will be able to give you more insight, not restricted by the rules of this forum.

And yes, I would want to know why. But I would go elsewhere to find those answers, since they can not be forthcoming here. I have no idea whether you rave, or are just seeking links - the reviews were done not based on any forum posting here and the rules of the forum give us very strict guidelines which we must follow. I hope you understand.

Since your income is affected by this, maybe you should consider other directories which offer a more finite review time, on a pay-per-listing basis.

Understood, and appreciated. I will follow your advice, and seek more detailed help in a Webmaster forum. However, when I gather advice on exactly how to become compliant, and make appropriate changes to my site, I don't want to be accused of SPAMming the directory, or simply being ignored/disregarded (as in the case of "jimnoble" and "hutcheson") because of previous infractions. Is there a certain procedure I should follow so that editors know that my submission includes changes that make my site compliant? Because, from what I've gathered from some of the editors on this board, my site may be completely ignored without investigation of my changes. (Of course, I will NOT be submitting my site in its current, guideline-violating form. The site will include whatever changes that I learn are necessary, but I just want to have the peace-of-mind that my research and hard work will not be vain. I hope you understand, and can point me in the right direction regarding how to make it known to editors that I am submitting a CHANGED, DMOZ-compliant site.)

To "hutcheson": You are blatantly wrong--period. I do NOT own any other site listed ANYWHERE in ODP. Your punishment is utterly undeserving.

If Reference/Education/Products_and_Services/Academic_Papers were deleted from the directory it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Thank you for openly displaying your "unbias" stance as an ODP editor. Perhaps YOU should be removed? Unbelievable . . . .

Now that I think about it, PLEASE, do delete the entire category. At least that way I would be on even ground with my competitors.

The closing of your other thread was not an invitation to start a new one. Please understand that the only answer we can give regarding the possible listing of your site has already been given in that thread and will not be given here as well. Please don't start any new threads to ask about this same site. Thanks.
