Too many threads closed

This isnt a dmoz issue but it is a resource-zone issue. Too many threads are closed for no reason. After intellegent back and forth conversation that winds up providing useful information to visitors, the threads are closed, and comments are erased. The whole thing is silly.

I would hope that people here can stick up for, and think for themselves. Just because an editor is losing an arguement doesnt mean another editor should come in and close the thread. Not much free speach around here. I understand removing urls from posts but, stop killing peoples thoughts. I feel like the FCC has taken over the board. If an editor wants to say something dumb go right ahead, but if you are a vistor and we dont agree with you, then kiss your comments goodbye.

It is all very frustrating and it is driving me away, and then there goes another helper of the project. No matter how many visitors say that some peoples attitudes around here stink, nothing changes. Who is wrong? Everyone? Or do you think there is a chance that things are not handled as well as they could around here?

Threads are never closed for no reason.
The posting guidelines describe which kind of discussions can be held in this forum. Other subjects will be closed or in some cases completely removed.

Well obviously. Nothing is done for no reason.

But if you think things are not done outside of those guidlines then you are naive. People take things personally. Especially in my case. I have pissed off people to no end apparently. I have been asked by people to leave. For what I have no idea.

First off to address the initial question and in addition to what pvgool stated, threads are also closed when they reach a point of no longer being productive. That is an administrative decision here by the Moderators, not because anyone doesn't like someone.

For the last comment, who has asked you to leave and where? I'll admit I haven't read every post on this forum but I didn't notice it anywhere, perhaps I missed it? If you were repeatedly violating or abusing the forum policies you could be banned I would think, rather than someone asking you to 'leave'.

Per chaz's recommendation, I'll lock this thread BEFORE it turns into an argument.
