Hello,

I submitted our website a few months ago (no word on that yet), and idiot that I am I failed to keep a record of exactly which category I submitted to.

Would anyone know if there's any way of finding this out?

Probably not that we would have access to, either, although we do have some tools which would help, if it mattered.

Yes it would matter, but only if what I'm contemplating is ethical or allowed.

What am I contemplating?..............

Simply to apply to become an editor of the category that I submitted to so that I can help to speed things along in that category, hence get my site listed that much sooner. But, of course, I cannot do that if I don't know which category I submitted to.

My My, the Internet can be extremely frustrating at times.

Larry, if you're interested in building a category up, it doesn't matter whether your site is in it (not to us, and it shouldn't to you). And if you're not interested in building a category up, it still doesn't matter (to either of us).

If you'd like to help build up a category, go for it! And if not, that's OK too.

Okay then.

I am, therefore compelled to ask arubin exactly what tools he is referring to, and how, if at all, these tools can be utilized to help me locate the category I've submitted to.

We can't/won't explain our internal tools here.

The gist of hutcheson's post was that, if you would like to help out by becoming an editor, the category you submitted your site to should be irrelevent -- just find a small category that you are interested in and apply there.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that there was anything we would do for you. There are some tools which would assist the process of determining where a site is waiting for review -- it's not the primary purpose of those tools, but there are some. However, it's also not that important, even to us. If I find a site that I believe should be listed, I list it where I think it should go, without worrying about where else it may be waiting for review.

You should do the same -- if you want to improve the category your site should be listed in, apply for that category. Whether it (your site) has been submitted to other categories and whether it's still waiting for review in other categories is not really relevant.

All right, then. I will give this some thought.

I'll be ending this thread here, as I'm sure you have better things to do.

But I do want to thank all of you for your responses.

Take Care.
