I recently submitted a site TrainingSchools.net and would like for someone to please give me a status. The site was submitted under this category:

only more categories for specific subjects.

Your site appears to be a portal and not offering actual training or education for any of the categories.

On the above basis I think it is unlikely your site will ever get listed in the category where you sent it.

Cleve, thanks for the reply. Per your last response you indicated the site that I am submitting is a portal (Which is correct) AND you advised that you thought it would be "unlikely" that the site would be submitted in the category which I requested (http://dmoz.org/Business/Education_and_Training)

Though, I don't see why it can't be in this category as the site provides many information dealing with many category regarding Training Schools. I can't think of ANY Available specific DMOZ sub-category that would be suitable for the site. Since, you stated above that you believe it would be "unlikely" it would be submitted tells me that there might be a chance. Can you or someone give me a definite answer on this. And, perhaps some suggestions as to a more appropriate category. Also, I would like to ask since this category was available for me to submit a site, exactly, what type of site is acceptable there. When I read the categoy description on DMOZ before applying the information was described to be JUST for the type of site that I am submitting, so I am confused as to why this would not be acceptable??? Please respond with comments/suggestions ASAP, THANK!!!!

The responses I am getting beck is NOT making it clear to me as to why I can't submit to the above requested category.

The category description seems to be o.k based on it's description in DMOZ. Further, I had asked what type of web sites would be acceptable in the above requested category. Can you PLEASE explain (And, please see my previous comments/remarks in the previous POST!!!

If you look at the sites listed in the subcategories of http://dmoz.org/Business/Education_and_Training , you'll see that they are sites for companies that are actually in the business of providing specific training programs.

Seeing as there are no sites listed at that level and it just just a bunch of links to other categories it is very unlikely that any site would be listed at that level. Some levels of the directory simply don't seem to list sites.

Thank you motsa. Your comments confirm my suggestion that portal sites are often not considered the same as unique content sites. Hopefully it will help Ray understand why his site is unsuitable for the category. It is hard to accept that not everyone sees your site as the best, even though you think it is.

First, it would be really nice if you could ease up on the use of exclamation points and all caps in your posts since that denotes yelling. I know you're het up but you might want to step back and think how your posts can be perceived by others. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Are you talking about your status in the Business/Education_and_Training category you said you initially submitted to? Well, you've already been told that your site isn't appropriate for that category since you do not provide education or training services yourself. You are not waiting in that category. Take a look through the directory and find a more suitable category to submit your site to, then come back to this thread in a month or more from the date of your resubmission and we'll be happy to give you a status update.

Per the last replyed comments by motsa, the status I am looking to get is the site that I did re-submit for www.trainingschools.net in category http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Directories/

The first time I submitted the site it was for the category
http://dmoz.org/Business/Education_and_Training/.... Then it was advised I could not do this so I did re-submit the site to this category: http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Directories/... This is the category I am trying to get a status for. Now, I did by error started a different post before as motsa noted and he advised I should make all post inquiries to the first post (this one, I hope). So, please if someone can go beck and help me find the status to my most re-submitted site for trainingschools.net in category: http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Directories/

I could tell you your place in the queue, but since other editors might sort the queue differently, it wouldn't be of much use to you. In addition, we do not require editors to work their way through a queue in any particular order, they can pick and choose as they wish.

Thanks for the reply above. However, I must say that based on the above comment the dmoz system is bad. Just wanted to share my opinion. I think DMOZ should try to improve on this. If people submit a site and there's no order or system in place for a site to be reviewed fairly and in order is pretty messed up. Not sure if this is the place to make this suggestion BUT I was thinking why not have a place where people can loggin to view where there site is within a que and it's status as far as it being reviewed, read by someone, etc.

In any case, I would appreciate if someone can give me another status to www.trainingschools.net which was submitted to this category: dmoz.org/Reference/Education/

It's much too soon for you to be asking for a status update since you just got your last update on Apr 25 (barely 2 weeks ago). We ask that you leave at least a month between status checks (and leaving more time is probably better since it's unlikely that the site will be reviewed within the next month).

I hope that you meant http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Directories and not the upper level Reference/Education as you put in your post.

The ability to jump here and there is one of the beautiful aspects of our system and one of the things that makes this venture even feasible. Forcing a specific queue would spell disaster and would promote poor editing.

Can some one please give me a status on the www.trainingschools.net web site. I have been forever waiting to get this site listed. The site is submitted on the following category: dmoz&gt;reference&gt;education&gt;directories.

Also, I would like to see if can move the above site one directory up to: dmoz&gt;reference&gt;education as appose to dmoz&gt;reference&gt;education&gt;directories.

If possible, i would like the above change made only if there will be no additional delays! Would appreciate a reply asap... Thanks!
