Translated site

Here is a problem. Site ‘A’ has interesting and helpful content but NOT unique enough to get listed on the main category ‘X’. However Site ‘A’ has translations to 6 other languages and for those languages categories the content is unique.
Will site ‘A’ be listed in the main category or in the appropriate languages categories (one site will get listed in six categories)?
I believe that if site ‘A’ will get list in any of the categories, it will probably create a huge wave of translated site submitted to DMOZ. <img src="/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

Each language section can be submitted to the appropriate World (language) categories, that is 7 times (English + 6 languages) for site 'A'. Each submission is likely to be reviewed by a different editor, and if there's enough valuable and unique content it may be possible that it gets up to 7 listings. It may also be rejected everywhere, or just be accepted in 2 or 3 languages.

If a site has interesting and unique content that is available in several languages, then there's no problem to list it several times in different World categories. There's no point translating affiliate spam or poor content, it will not be accepted anywhere. I'd be surprised to see a webmaster translate an affiliate spam site into Latin just to get a listing in ODP, but nothing is impossible. <img src="/images/icons/tongue.gif" alt="" />

And btw: Most World/ editors will refude to list babelfish-translated websites. You would have to pay for a human to translate it. And then nothing speaks against sites being multilingual.
