I have been trying for 2 years to list my site
I follow all the instructions but I must be doing something wrong.
The category for similar products to mine is not applicable or relevant to my product, this might be causing confusion on the part of DMOZ editors.
Is it possible to get advice from editors on how to complete this process.

I see some misunderstandings about what DMOZ is and how it operates

You can not list your site, nor can you try to list your site
You can only suggest a website (it does not matter who owns that website) for editors to look at.
Every suggestion will be looked at. It is just a matter of time. Which can vary between a few days and several years.

From your first sentence I get the impressions that you have suggested the website more than once.
That is against the guidelines. A website need only to be suggested once.

If the category is not applicable for your website you should not suggest the website to that category. Suggest it to the ONE best category,.
But if similiar products are listed in a category it sounds very reasonable to assume that category is the best.
Don't worry if an editor thinks another category is better the suggestion will be moved to that category.
Suggesting to the wrong category is never a reason for rejection.

The process you are involved in is already completed. You did suggest the website. That is all there is.
The rest is another process which you have no influence on and for which you can do nothing to speed it up or to change the outcome.
