I have been trying to get a quality regional website with great content listed for the last 5 years. I understand that content is processed by volunteer editors, but how long should it really take? I have a quality website that contains great content and is a positive addition to the community and the web as a whole. How can it take 5 years to get listed? There are other regional sites that I know haven't even been running for 3 years that are listed on DMOZ that don't contain half of the content that we do. Can someone shine some light on this for me?

If the website is in an area that no editor is interested in it can take several years.

If you suggested the website only once 5 years ago it might be lost in the crash we had at the end of 2006. In which case you may suggest it again.

If you suggested the website several times it might be that you yourself are the cause of the delay. Some editors do process suggestion based on date of suggestion. Only the last suggestion will be available. And by suggesting a website over and over again you keep resetting the date of suggestion.
