Two editors disagree on listing my site

Hi all.

I am in a weird situation. I submitted my website for inclusion a couple of months ago.

The editor of that category approved my site and it was listed.

Then it disappeared! I contacted the editor and she got back to me a few days later saying she had found my site back in her list of sites to be reviewed.

She approved it again and listed it. Then it disappeared again.

I eventually managed to contact the editor again and she has told me that another editor keeps de-listing her approved sites.

I find this incredible. Anyway, my site is still nowhere to be seen despite the fact that the author of that category has approved my site several times.

How can this happen?

My website meets all the criteria for a DMOZ listing. It seems that I may be a victim of an editors' personality clash.

Is there a way of resolving this? TIA for your feedback.

It's not unusual for a newly listed site to be unreviewed by a more senior editor because the editor who reviewed it needs to address something that is wrong such as an inappropriate title or description or the site doesn't belong in the category where it was listed. That is all out of your control. If your site is truly listable, then it will eventually be listed.

If a senior editor "unreviews" a site due to some error in the listing (category etc) then they should surely tell the editor who reviewed it what was wrong. Failing to do this means a waste of precious resources. If this has happened twice, then there must be a lack of communication going on.

Editors who unreview websites normally leave notes explaining why - both to justify the act and to educate less experienced editors.

If you believe that there has been editorial abuse, please report it at http://report-abuse.dmoz.org/ or by clicking on the report abuse/spam link at the top of the category page.

Just to be clear -- there's nothing in what you wrote in your initial post that would indicate editorial abuse or warrant filing an abuse report.
