Hi all,

I have a website related to training and certification and I have already tried 2 to 3 times in last 6 month to get listed in dmoz directory but unfortunately I don't know why still my site link is not visible on Dmoz.
I'm doing free submission. Please suggest me what should I do to get listed in Dmoz directory as on free submission basis.

Thanks

You've already done three times as much as you need to do.

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

If you can then kindly suggest me the process.

The process is very easy

You:
step 1. find the right category for the website
step 2. suggest the website into that category (do this only once)
step 3. go and do something else

DMOZ
step 4. an editor will look at the suggested website (when this will happen is something we do not know, can be a few days after step 2 or several years)
step 5. the website is either listed or it is not

By the way, there is never a charge for a site suggestion and there is no pay option.

My website has been in existence since 2006 - I have tried to get listed going down to the furthest category in my location that is relevant and left a long while between submissions. Any advice would be most helpful.

My best advice is that you stop suggesting your website because it is more likely to do more harm than good. If a DMOZ listing is going to happen, it'll happen when it happens.
