I tried reporting abuse at http://editors.dmoz.org/public/abuse as suggested but it will not go through. All of the information is filled out, after clicking Submit Report the next page shows a GO BACK link and that's it. There is no Report ID given which tells me the complaint has not been filed.

I posted our complaint in this post here: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53575

How can I successfully submit this report?

Thank you in advance.

We have been having some issues with the public abuse system since DMOZ 2.0 was implemented. I'm unable to check to see if your report went through. If you were planning to report the delisting of your site as mentioned in your other post here, you should know that the delisting of a site isn't really a valid reason to report abuse, unless you have proof that an editor has abused their privileges by removing your site. (The delisting of a site by itself is not proof.)

Please see my reply here regarding the issue: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53575&st=0&gopid=283070&#entry283070

I don't want to sit here and point fingers but it seems as if he is abusing his privileges, here are some more quotes from our email conversations, before he approved our listing:

Me: Thanks for the reply. Our listing has been resubmitted to the suggested category. The issue I'm having is this category was last updated 4 years ago (Tuesday, January 2, 2007 5:46:58 PM EST). It is clearly a category that is no longer monitored, it's as if the editor accepted their own site and disregarded the category altogether. ***at this point I didn't know he was the editor of our category***

Editor: That is a very interesting theory that you have there, however I don't know if it is entirely true.

The fact that he says "I don't know if it is entirely true" says a lot in my opinion.

As stated in my other post (http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53575&st=0&gopid=283070&#entry283070) I am not trying to get this guy removed as an editor, I just want him to do his job. He approved us once "based on its current merits of site content and for no other reason". Our website has not been changed in any way since that time so our website SHOULD still be listed, I do not see a valid reason for removal.

I ask that you please help me resolve this issue, thank you in advance.

As has been mentioned in several other threads.
This is a bug in the DMOZ software. In many categories the last update date has been reset to January 2, 2007 and does not change when updates are done. The bug is known by AOL, the only people able to change the code, but it is not known when it will be solved.

Thank you that is good to know, but as I mentioned in my other post, I was monitoring the category (manually) for over 12 months. I would check in periodically to see if my site or any other sites had been listed, I had a documented spreadsheet and everything. The editor was nowhere to be found.

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

jambam204, what you've posted doesn't qualify as proof that the editor is abusing his privileges. You don't know who (or what -- we have QA tools that sometimes unreview non-working sites) removed your site -- a couple of hundred editors have editing privileges in every category. If a site is listed and then unlisted like yours was, typically it was one of the QA tools or a more senior editor who unlisted it (either for QA reasons or because the site isn't listable at all).
