Hi There,

I am working on a site which is aimed at a pretty unique market, looking to provide a service to an area which currently is not catered for. It does fall into several of your categories. Is it possible to be listed within several categories?

If the site splits into further breakdowns is it possible to list each breakdown within the appropriate category?

Help would be much appreciated.

My apology if this post seems rather vague, just I am very aware of not breaking regulations regarding the promotion of businesses and the attempt to be unbiased.

Our submission guidelines require that a website be suggested just once to the one best category. Anything more than that is unnecessary and creates extra work for our volunteers. We don't mind one extra listing suggestion to the same category after 6-12 months, just in case the original got somehow lost. More than that could be seen as spamming - with the usual consequences.

Remember, suggesting a site is about helping the editor find it at the right moment. Once it's found, then ... whatever happens after that is the editor's responsibility.

One thing that might happen (according to the guidelines, "in exceptional cases") is that the site might be considered for listing in multiple places. Nearly always, a site that is offering the services (or products) of a company is not considered for multiple listings. And it should be obvious why this is so. If not, how many times would Walmart.com be listed? Amazon.com? -- editors would have to add thousands of listings before they could get around to reviewing the websites of the "little companies"!
