I see submissions removed (because an editor found another submission in another category) in:

http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Materials_and_Supplies/Special_Construction
http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Materials_and_Supplies/Site_Construction/Soil_Stabilization
and
http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Building_Types/Sustainable_Architecture/Earth_Construction

This means that:
1. You didn't follow the ODP request to submit to the ONE most appropriate category.
2. There is more than likely (assuming an editor didn't make a mistake) a submission sitting in a category somewhere awaiting review. I have no way of knowing which category that is, though, without going searching for it.

If you can tell us what OTHER categories you submitted the URL to, we can take a look.

Hello,

Thanks for the heads-up. Mea culpa! I submitted the special_construction one on 9/11/03 (before I read the ODP rules). And I also submitted the later one on 19/01/04 in the mistaken belief that it would overwrite the previous submission (so I obviously didn't read the rules too well).

As for any others, much to my embarrassment I can't say. This was an existing website that I inherited in Autumn 2003 to redesign, so earlier submissions may have been made before I got it, but I'd guess at the soil_stabilisation arena.

I don't want to put anyone to any undue effort - so if it's not terribly obvious then I'll call it quits on this one.

Best Wishes

last chance saloon!

Hello again,

Before I give up entirely, and mindful of what I said before in my post of 25th Feb 2004 about 'not putting folks to too much trouble' - do any of you kind folk on the editorial side have any way of identifying what other soil_stabilisation category this application might be sitting in? Is there a 'global search' facility you editors have access to that could uncover the original application? Or is there maybe someone who'd go that extra mile to help me out? As I said earlier, 'mea culpa' - but I'm not a bad person, just incompetent.

Best Wishes

Unfortunately we have no way to do that type of search. Your best bet, since you understand your company better than we do, would be to go to the categories you know had your submissions and look in the general area. Check out the related cat links too, maybe something will jog your memory.
