Updating listing - have tried everything

I have two sites with DMOZ listings that were either inaccurately edited by DMOZ editors or have out of date information.

I have tried to submit an update request for weeks. It is always "temporarily" out of service, or on one occasion the message did not go through.

I tried emailing to staff@dmoz.com. The email bounced back.

This is beyond frustrating.

I am near giving up and changing the robots file to instruct search engines to ignore DMOZ.

How can I simply update these listings, one of which was never correctly edited to begin with (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

The only way to suggest that editors will look at your website for a new description is by making an update request.
But take greate care that you make a request that meets our guidelines. Write a non-compliant description and the editor will most probably delete it without looking at the website.
Write a new description without any proof on the website why we should change the currect description and the request will be rejected.
Always remember that an editor will decide how we descrive a website. You can only make suggestions to help the editor.

We had some technical issues not so long a go that prevented any suggestion and update requests to reach our database. This was probably the "temporarily out of service" you encountered.

Thank you for the reply, but -

I tried the suggest update form today before posting. Several times. It does not work.

Second, one listing for one of my sites

a) was NEVER accurate to begin with:

<listing details removed>

I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, practiced family law. I toyed with the idea of building a site for a colleague who does, and still own a URL for <url removed> but even that URL…

b) is now parked and has no content whatsoever

Again, the listing is not now and was never accurate to begin with.

Third, you list <name removed> for your listing for my other website. He is a colleague who was once featured on this website. He is not affiliated with my firm and is no loner even mentioned on the site.

See –

<listing details removed>

You will see my name, and likeness, on this site. You will not find <name removed>, or anyone else.

As has been suggested earlier, you need to submit an update request if your existing listing in incorrect. If the Update listing form doesn't work for you, keep trying until it does -- we have been having intermittent issues with form submission recently but many people still manage to get through so keep trying.

I tried that. The update listing A) was not working but B) now says my site is not listed, even though
C) it IS listed here - http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=patrick+buckley+attorney and
D) IS ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT!!!!!

I am NOT Patrick Buckley and am NOT a former insurance adjuster. (!!!)

The search is not representing the actual valuse. It is always one week or more behind the real directoy. Look at the category were the website was listed and you will see that it is no longer there. An editor must have seen your request and taken action, either it is now listed in another category (matching the current content of the website) or it is waiting for a new review.
