Hi,

We submitted a site about a year ago and it has not been added to the directory.

The site recently just moved to a new URL and went through some rebranding.

The old URL has been 301 redirected to the new URL.

Question:

Do we completely resubmit the site as a new entry into the same category?

Or is there another course of action we can take to update the old submission?

Thanks!

Well, as you have already submitted your site in the directory about a year ago, however, it is not yet listed. As there is no specific time durations of how often it will be listed in the directory, as it is a volunteer services where Editors take their time to review your site.
However, as you have change the site to a new domain, it is advisable to submit your business or site under the specific category(may be the same category, provided if it is not change) in order to let the users and editors know about the new site, about its products, services etc and it might happen that they may be interested in your new sites as compared to your older site.

We prefer non-editors not to answer questions as they are not aware of all things related to DMOZ.

First a remark. We request not to suggest websites that are under construction. A website that changes url and is rebranded within a year is in my opinion under construction.

You have two options.
1. wait for an editor to review the old url and notice the 301 redirect
2. suggest the new ulr - write a description and add in the same field "[replaces www.xxxx.tld]" as info for the editor (ofcourse replace xxxx.tlfd with your old url)

both are acceptable for DMOZ

Thank you for the reply.

Per your advice I will resubmit the site with a notation about the old URL.

FYI: The website is no longer under construction. We specifically waited to resubmit until the new website had been completed. The branding updates were minor.
