Hi, I'm checking on the URL update I requested for URL update for http://www.paloaltosoftware.com/ to be changed to http://www.paloalto.com/ in the directory:

http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Business/Management/

Since the two sites are very nearly identical, we've chosen one of them and listed it. There's no reason for us to change the URL of a working site.

Thanks for the reply. It's actually two URLs that both work for the same site. http://www.paloaltosoftware.com was the old URL that we're trying to phase out, it still redirects to the same content, but that's why I requested for it to be updated to http://www.paloalto.com. So that it would be the correct current URL without it redirecting. We're hoping to not have to maintain the URL forever, but I'd prefer to not turn it off just to get the URL updated.

as dfy said, there's no reason for us to change the uRL of a working site. moreover, the http://www.paloaltosoftware.com/ site doesn't redirect to http://www.paloalto.com , it just has the same content.

If you want it changed, you should therefore actually redirect the former to the latter, and come back here posting that you have done so.

Thanks, sorry for the misuse of the term redirect. You are correct that both URLs just point to the same place. If it only makes it possible to update the URL by actually making it redirect even though the intention is the same, I'll do that.
