Hi,

I am planning to use the ODP search engine (www.dmoz.org) for my research. Is there a limit to the number of searches that can be made in a day?

Thanks,
Rahul.

I'd strongly recommend doing any research from the RDF instead. ODP search merely returns listings with the search words in URL, title, or description -- and returns them in a random order. And -- for whatever reason, the ODP search servers are frequently overloaded -- so the sysadmins take a dim view of automated searches.

I can't give an exact number, but I suspect "If we can spot you, you've done your last search" is a fair statement of their attitude.
