waiting for reply

I have applied to be an editor under Top: Regional: Asia: India: Goa: Business and Economy. It's more than 15 days now and still haven't recd a reply.

I know, one has to wait for some time before he get's a reply. But what makes me impatient is, there are just 36 sites within it & I believe there might be hardly any people submitting for editorship under this category. So the meta editor should be able to reply soon.

Insight on reason for delay, would be appreciated.

It is better to wait than to receive a reply within a day or so. Generally, a quick reply means they have found an obvious error (just speculation), while a review of weeks, or months means they are considering your application.

Give it a little more time.

The privilege of editing at the ODP is worth the effort. The people you work with are people at their best...people who give because they WANT to.

27 days is long, but not entirely unprecedented. Some applications may take over a month, especially in areas being reorganised or attracting a lot of spam.

Try reapplying, the system will not let you reapply if there is still an application pending.

Keep a copy of the information you submit as there have been some problems with the application form, and it will help if you need to submit again.

The category size is probably right for a new editor, but if it receives a lot of spam, may not be appropriate for a new editor.

Make sure that your email address is correct, and that you note any business affiliations with the category when applying.
