Hi,

My name is Husein Yuseinov from Bulgaria I'm self employed web developer and seo consult.

In one of the biggest web design and seo forums in Bulgaria we started a huge discussion <URL Removed> about the dmoz directory submission process, how long it takes and what it needs to be done so website is accepted.

We realized that many of the Bulgarians categories are without editors or with status "This category needs editor", many of the the users in that forum share that they've been candidates for editors but theirs application were rejected. Me my self applied a several times for small categories to become editor but with the same results.

Many of us are waiting more than a year for a website to be reviewed

I don't want to blame anyone, i know you don't get paid to do what you do, i just respect you for that.

But please take a look into our problem and let us become a part of your community.

Thanks

You're very welcome to join our community. All you have to do is fill out a credible application form.

We are primarily looking for:
- Communication skills in the language of the category - including the ability to read a question before answering it.
- Integrity.
- Attention to detail.
- An understanding of the category requested (which should have 15-100) listings.

What's so hard about that :)? Quite a few candidates manage to do so every day.

Thanks Jim for fast respond!

At first sight it's nothing complicated.

Most of the people i know that candidates for editors are well known experts in their field, but their application were rejected also.

I always carefully read the rules and guidelines, I've learned almost everything by heart :). But it seems that I'm missing something!

I just submitted another application for http://www.dmoz.org/World/Bulgarian/Пазаруване_онлайн/Компютри/ hope it finely pass the requirements.

Thanks

My application was not approved again :), and I'm really tired of doing the same exercise.

The reviewer comments told you exactly why your application was declined. If you aren't able/willing to pay heed to them, then your applications are likely to continue to be declined.

As i was working for some time as a domain seller, i can't mention all domains i've sold if thats count as affiliation!!!

Also is a good idea to resend the application to the user e-mail, because it took a long time to write it.

I agree. Of course, it's not something we volunteers can change.

Until it is changed, it's a good idea to keep a copy of your application--just copy all the fields on the form into a text editor (or whatever, you could even use a spreadsheet program.)

I've learned my lesson now, but it was too late :).

I've just wrote and resend the application again and i tried to do my best, to mention all project I'm related to, I even found a blog on Blogger that i forgot about :).

Now I'm going to pray so my application is accepted :)!

Thanks for your pation!

What is the average time for an application to be reviewed, or it depends?!

Thanks

It depends.

Some applications are dealt with in hours; others can take weeks. An application can be evaluated by any volunteer meta editor or catmod who feels competent to do so.

I can tell you that the oldest application awaiting evaluation is 5 weeks old.

Yeah, my application was processed today, and it was rejected again, the old story :).

Maybe I should stop trying! However thanks for responses.
