Alright, I'm back to this forum but not for directory listing questions but for why is my site completely dropped or appears to not be listed anymore.

I typed in my URL, and it says no information!!! My site was reaching goal point wit the good keywords and now its vanished. I dont know maybe the engine is updating my site listing, thats why? or I'm Finaly being listed in the Naruto Directory, for after 4 years? lolz I doubt it but can anyone give me some ideas to what happened?

Thanks.

Are you saying that your listing was dropped by the ODP, or that you can not find it in Google?

We can't possible give information, if you're talking about an ODP listing, without giving what amounts to a status check.

I think the question was "Why am I not listed in Google?"

If that is about the Google Directory, then note that the Google Directory is a copy of the ODP - but which lags our version by a couple of months.

If that is about Google Search, then go ask Google. Only they could know for sure the reason why. If you want speculation, try a Google forum.

Google does what the call a 'dance' - especially if you've updated your website in a major way recently. Results can go up and down. Id you've also been taken off a major website you can notice a steep drop in ranking. You can still get listed without ODP - just find some free directories to submit to.

The last Google "dance" was more than 2 years ago. They don't do that anymore.

Well, I don't know where you get your information from. I disagree as my site has been "dancing" up and down around the top 15 for the past two months.

giz is an expert on Google. The "Google dance" was a term invented by Google-watchers for the roughly monthly updates of the Google index that were a fixture until about two years ago. As the new index percolated over the various datacenters, the SERPs would 'dance' about, as Google.com drew on different datacenters for its results.

Then Google ceased to update in that way. Instead they update the index constantly. This is referred to by Google-watchers as "everflux". Here's Google's own Matt Cutts on the topic: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/whats-an-update/

The one certainty in life is change, as they say.

Sometimes I read the SEO forums and blogs, and other times I do my own primary research about Google DataCenters stuff, like this.

Well. I stand corrected. I guess my site suffers from acid-reflux then.

I use Google Sitemaps. The main site I've been listing and trying to optimize has been 'reindexed' twice a month - there's a section which actually gives a date for it. I noticed that from within the Google Sitemaps pages, the information they collect/hold changes rather significantly with these major updates - items such as cached pages, keywords, and errors.

As for this 'everflux', I noticed my results in-between these large indexing spreads can quickly move up or down depending on how I change a simple word. It's finally gotten to a point where it has hit #15 and has just stayed there unmoving/stabilized instead of a bouncing up and down on a minute-by-minute basis.

As for whether this will move higher again, I think it'll occur during the next major Googlebot indexing.

I guess that up and down listing period would be considered 'Everflux' as it seemed blindingly fast.

Ever since Google started playing with "BigDaddy" it has been in more flux than usual.

Following a recent court ruling in France in may get even more so, at least for France/French language results.

Google Is Just Scum..

You really can't depend on them...they'll drop you like a bad cold just when you think you have their ranking system figured out...I went from having 150 hits at least per day from top 3 listings per all keywords to becoming completely dropped the next....they suck basically.

Yeah - I was reading about Matt's blog posts on 'Bigdaddy' recently. In the same token, Yahoo! has implemented one of the fastest ranking results systems seen in a search engine over a month ago. I wonder how much they tie-in with each other competition-wise.

No idea about this. Will have to read up on what you're talking about.

Well - no one says you've got to use Google. And how is anyone here supposed to say that your site was appropriate for it - especially when none of us have seen it (don't post here cause theyll just remove the link)? Was it family-friendly or did it contain porn or gambling? Perhaps you had pop-ups galore or hidden text on a same-colored background.

A ranking drop could happen for any number of reasons.
