I submitted a website more 1 month ago and i haven't heard anything from DMOZ regarding it's listing. One section of DMOz says allow at least 2 weeks and another says it could take several months and is dependent on the category. I did not get an email to say it's been received by you when i submitted my website and am wandering if I need to submit it again as it may not been received by Dmoz. Could you let me know? <url removed>

No email goes out when a site is suggested for inclusion, the confirmation is displayed on the screen. There is no fixed times for evaluating suggestions and not all suggested sites will get listed.

Hi. I have had a listing for a number of years but had to remove my website & discontinue my business for 2 years due to a temporary health problem in 2008. I have been able to restart my business now and my website is up and operational again. I have re-submitted my URL but not sure if that is the correct process? Will my URL request get the same consideration again or will I be penalised for having my website down for 2 years? Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Regards

Rick

Yes, it is.

It would have to get the same consideration again. After all, the reviewer typically can't know the domain name even has the same owner as before. It's best to just start from scratch. (Only if the domain has a VERY nasty history would things be otherwise. But a site that was formerly listed presumably couldn't have all that nasty a history....)

Then what is the criteria of the site being listed successfully? Please elaborate.

Thank you

Hi,

I submitted my site to DMOZ in a wrong category. So, I did it once again in correct category.

Then, which one would possibly to be listed? The one in correct category or the one in first time?

Thanks

Quincy

Does it matter.
If a website is listable it will be listed in the best category. Even if it is suggested to what is not the best category.

Hi

I Listed my site a few months ago <removed URL> and have searched for it a couple of times in the directory but
not seen it. Is there a way I can find out if my inclusion has been sucessful, or if I need to re-apply.
Id be grateful for any info on how I find this out.

Many thanks

Alan

> I Listed my site a few months ago
No, you did not. You suggested a website. Only DMOZ editors can list websites. An editor will review a suggestion, when that will happen is something nobody knows. It could be tomorrow or over severall years.

> it. Is there a way I can find out if my inclusion has been sucessful,
When a website is listed you can see it in the directory.

> or if I need to re-apply.
There is never a reason to suggest a website again.

Dear Sir/madam
Thanks for the information. I appologise for my incorrect wording regarding listing.

I will keep checking the directory and keep my fingers crossed!
