Hi Guys,

I know that a DMOZ listing can take up to several year to appear and since there is no guarantee that a site is going to be listed, and that it is on an "per website" basis I would like to ask the following general question:

Several (about 9) years ago I submitted a {unnamed} website to dmoz.org and within 2-3 days I recieved a "submission confirmed" email, and a few days later a "listing confirmed" email.

Where has this gone? Has dmoz.org purposely removed it?

I feel it would be nice to let submitters know where they are at?

Is this something that will be re-implemented in the future?

That feature isn't available. One would hope that they are the only folks with access to the code.

As many threads in this asking for similar features will confirm, such a feature isn't planned.

When suggesting a website, the final screen confirms that the suggestion has been received, making an email pointless.

When a website has been listed, it's visible in the directory, making an email pointless.

Are you sure that was dmoz.org? I don't remember that feature ever existing (or even being talking about) in the ODP so I expect that you either got emails that were sent manually by the editor of the category you suggested your site to or you're thinking of another directory.
