What about submitting to categories without an editor ?

Hi,

I was wondering, if you submit a site to a categorie that isn't currently edited, what happens to it ? Is it reviewed anyway by someone or am I just wasting my time submitting it ?

By "isn't currently edited" do you mean a category with no listed editor?

If yes...

The vast majority of dmoz categories have no listed editor and are in fact edited by editors of parent categories*. Additionally, we have editors that can edit anywhere within the Directory and so they of course can and do review sites submitted to categories with no listed editor.

* Editors tend to remove themselves from lower categories as they gain higher privileges for two reasons: 1. it keeps their dashboards cleaner and 2. it encourages new editors to apply for those lower level categories.

So, no, you are not wasting your time submitting it.
