What category should I get for this?

I have large problems with my grammatical, and spelling. So that's probably the mainly of reason that I couldn't get my site submitted in dmoz. I am asking you to visit (url is on my profile) and take a look of it, then tell me what category I should submit in the category. I have hard time to understand which category to submit my site in.

Plus, I am wondering what's the easiest way for me to get my site submitted in dmoz? I submitted once, any idea if my site is going to be approved or not?

We don´t answer questions regarding specific websites.

Suggest your site to the category you think is most relevant.

As long as you make a reasonable attempt to find the most suitable category, the ODP editors will take care of the rest for you. If the site belongs in another category, we'll move it there, and if the suggested title and description don't meet our editing style guidelines we'll make the necessary changes.* Of course the closer you get to the right category and an appropriate title and description, the easier and quicker it is for us. If a site needs to be moved somewhere else, it may need to wait again for a second editor to come along and review it before it can be listed.

(* In the tens of thousands of edits I've done, I think I could count the number of public-suggested descriptions that didn't need significant corrections on my fingers.)

BTW: I don't know if this applies or not, but just in case (and for anyone else who might be reading this): if a site doesn't have its content in English, then it needs to be suggested to a category under the appropriate language in http://www.dmoz.org/World/. The categories outside "World" are only for English-language websites.

Ok, thanks so much for that advanced. The reason I was wanting to have my site to be listed in dmoz so I can say myself "my site is proudly listed on dmoz", hehe.

I submitted my site in http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Authoring/Webmaster_Resources/

So, I hopefully I submit it in right category. Could any one tell me if I am at right or wrong category for submitting this kind of website since it's under "web design and development".

Is there a way I can take a peek of status for this, or... Not?

We don't discuss specific sites on these forums any longer which limits us to what we can suggest. In general though, a forum would fall under a Chats and Forums category if it existed and the site was listable. For a forum to be considered, it would have to be pretty comprehensive on the topic. A forum with less than 200 posts by less than 20 members is not likely to be listable.

Yes, but since we have a policy of not discussing specific sites here, the location of the URL for your site is irrelevant.

If the category you've chosen isn't appropriate, the reviewing editor will send it to the right one.

Used to have a lot more than less of 200 posts, and less than 20 members. My site is pagerank 1, and is a year old.

But, thanks for the advice though.:D

If I cause any troubles on here, I want to apologize.

I don't think you have caused any trouble. :) Rather there has been a slight misunderstanding of the policies of these forums. Not a big deal, really.

Unfortunately its not about what a site used to be, rather its about what it is at the time an editor reviews it.

Hi Everyone, This is my first visit here. I have popped in to hopefully find some help. May I please ask confirmation of the following quote.

After reviewing all categorties, I am unable to find the most appropriate, basically, because my site covers so many topics. Therefore will it be OK to submit, then to allow the editors to decide?
Many thanks.

Try to pick a category that covers the bulk of what's on the site.

Without giving specifics about the site, such as the site name or URL, you can give us an idea of what type of content is on the site and where you were thinking of suggesting it and we can give you an idea of whether you're in the right ball park. :D

Hi Motsa,
OK, the site is about offering information details on how to begin/do something, which covers almost everything from business - travel - hobbies etc.
The closest category I could find was education, but it was stipulated my site can't sell anything, which unfortunately my site does, I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Keep in mind that ads don't count as "selling". If that's what you're talking about, then http://dmoz.org/Home/Do-It-Yourself/ is probably going to be the category you're looking for.

If, on the other hand, you're actually selling stuff (taking orders yourself, have stock on hand, etc.), then you'd need to be looking at a category in Shopping.
