What happened to the @ Links?

Are they all gone? Is the feature not coming back? I always thought it was a great feature and distinct from Related Categories (see link below).

@links basically enabled us to combine a directory with a folksonomy

The @links still exist - but they have been incorporated into the standard directory lists. So you still see them, but they are integrated.
