What if there's no editor?

If there's no editor listed for the category to which I'd like to submit, how would my site actually be listed in that category? Who edits those categories? There seem to be many, many categories that have a link at the bottom to volunteer to be an editor.

(2) Editing isn't a slotted assignment so much as an activity. If you're interested in editing a topic, and you can find editing work to do, then ... what does it matter that someone else can find (or once did find) work to do in the near neighborhood? Just do what you see to do, and others will be doing what they see. That way, more of what anyone sees to do, gets done by someone.

If there isn't an editor in a category, TruckCrazy, there most likely will be editors in the categories above that category who edit in many categories.

Plus, there are 200 editors, like meta editors, who are constantly moving around the whole Directory, .
