Hello,

I submitted my site for submission last July 17, 2004 (URL=http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Disorders/Anxiety/Social_Anxiety/). Upon inquiry a month later (see below), you informed me that my site was moved to Counseling Services where it is awaiting review. I have two questions:

1. I have checked and don't see my site listed? Has it been reviewed, and if so what was the result?

2. I request that my site be moved back to social anxiety (URL=http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Disorders/Anxiety/Social_Anxiety/). While it is certainly true that my site is a counseling practice (psychotherapy, actually), my site is entirely devoted to Social Anxiety. In addition to some information about my practice per se, my site includes a much larger amount of information about social anxiety as such. I believe that searchers would be better served by my site being listed in Social Anxiety because someone with that problem is more likely to look there for help than under Counseling Services, the vast majority of which has nothing to do with social anxiety. Finally, none of the subcategories of Counseling Services apply to my practice. My work is cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is not listed.

Thank you for your consideration. (In respect of your request to not write frequently, I have waited four months since my last inquiry. I hope that is enough.)

If you read the forum posting guidelines - you will see that it states a mininum of six months between status requests.

And to save your time and ours -- you may not appeal the move at that time. If the site becomes listed in a category that you consider inappropriate, you may then make an Update request.

I see no further change in status in your suggestion.

You may check to see if the site is listed at any time, but you cannot ask again here for 6 months unless you see it listed, and want it moved to another category.

Ah, c'mon...your response wasn't substantive...except to say I have to wait another six months. Could you please tell me why there has been no change of status in the seven month since submission...then I'll shut up for six months, I promise. Is there a problem, or a question about my site, or is there just a big backlog, or what? Thank you very much.

Could be a backlog. Could be none of the many editors who can edit in your suggested category chose to look at your site. Could be there's something wrong with your site. Could be the editor(s) who looked at your site didn't like your color scheme.

There's no way to tell. All we could tell is that no editor moved the site, changed the title or description (in the unreviewed queue), or added an editor note.

You have to wait another six months to ask in this forum. But we have no idea how long the site will wait to be reviewed -- which is why we didn't give you that particular (substantial) bit of information.

"I don't know" is pretty comprehensive, and often the closest one can achieve to a true answer.
