What is the benefit of submit a site in Dmoz directory

Can anyone suggest me what is the benefit of submit a site in Dmoz directory

my site is listed in dmoz directory but it is not getting any traffic from dmoz

i think it is only time wasting

The answer to that question would solve many of the worlds problems I think. Seriously, the only benefit is that the site would have one more (additional) link. Some data users may or may not add weight to a link based upon the resource its coming from, but that is not something the editors can answer. That you would have to ask the data user about.

It is not the mythical magic bullet that some people (who really have no idea what they are talking about) make it out to be. Although there are many users of dmoz to find sites, the majority dmoz searcher traffic comes indirectly through a third party user.

If you are only interested in dmoz to drive traffic to your website, it´s sure a waste of time to put your focus here. If you are interested in helping the public find good resources on the web, you are here for the right reasons...
