Good Morning everyone,

My site is a travel and consumer guide publication for young professionals.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what category would be best. Would you recommend Category: Home: Consumer Information: Travel?

Thank you,

Uche

No.

You should submit to the category you think best fits the site -- comparing other sites listed, the category charter, and other similar sites.

Don't worry too much about getting it wrong. We're not Yahoo, we'll try to move the site to the right place (but that will probably take longer -- our editors generally edit categories, not submittal queues.)

If you think that is the best category you can find, then go ahead and submit there. I don't disrecommend it either.

Thank you for your response.

I initially submitted this site to Dmoz.org about 2 years ago but can't recall what catergory I requested.

Would you prefer I submit it to Recreation/Travel/Publications instead?

Thank you,
Uche

A lot of the links of the front page of www.genxrevealed.com are dead (404).

That will almost certainly get your site rejected by a reviewer.

Please fix the 404s before submitting it to the single most appropriate category you can find.

You might want to use some linkchecking software to help with this:

e.g.

DMOZ Link Management Tools category

Thank you

Good Morning Andy,

Thank you for your feedback.
I have fixed all the broken links on the the front page of my website.

In addition, I have also used a linkchecking software to help check for any other broken links on my site. According to the software, there are no more broken links on my website.

Do you have any other suggestions or recommendations for me? :)

Again, thank you.

Not really hutcheson already covered where to submit.

The other thing you'll have to watch out for is 'affiliate links' though. Since I notice that a lot of the outbound links on your site are affiliate once clicked on - though the affiliate served url from qksrv doesn't show up in the taskbar until you click.

See policy here:

Dmoz Guidelines

The editor who reviews your site will be looking for specific content - i.e. if all adverts and affiliates are removed from your site. What is left is the unique content - is it sufficient? That's the call that the editor will have to make.

It is quite possible that your site, in its current structure, may be unlistable under those guidelines, which I'm sure isn't what you want to hear. But I don't want to raise expectations.

Kind Regards,

Andy

Thank you

Hello Andy,

Thank you for your suggestions.
I am considering taking all the affiliate links links off.
Again, thank you.
