which category? (movie-and-music-posters.com)

I would like to have my website listed in the ODP directory, but are at a loss as to which (and how many) categories to submit.

My website:
http://www.movie-and-music-posters.com/
Offers movie posters and music posters, listed by movie title, actor and actress name, and music style.

Possible ODP categories:

For movie posters
http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Entertainment/Television_and_Movies/Posters/
http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Entertainment/Television_and_Movies/Posters/Movies/

For music posters
http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Music/Related_Merchandise/Posters/

To complicate things, my website contains web pages for individual movies, music styles, etc. ... all of which have their own ODP categories.

Could/Should I submit to these, as well?

Thank you for your help!

Best wishes,

Miroslav

Your site doesn't actually sell any posters - all links go to allposters.com, and that site is already listed. The ODP lists websites with unique content, and your site does not appear to contain any. I'm sorry, but I don't think your site can be listed anywhere.

Thank you very much for your prompt responses, nea and kokopeli.

I understand and agree with the ODP guidelines regarding affiliate web sites. It simply does not make sense to list multiple sites with the same content...

At the same time, I respectfully submit that there are at least two unique content elements that (to my knowledge) only http://www.movie-and-music-posters.com/ provides:

1. I carefully review all Allposters.com content and hand-pick only the 3 most popular items for each page. This makes it easier for the visitor to find the most popular posters for their favorite movie.

2. On each movie page, I list the respective cast & characters with links to their poster pages on Allposters.com. This, I believe, adds additional value for the visitor.

Of course, it's a matter of interpretation whether the above is sufficient to get a listing in ODP. You may find the content "poor" of "minimal", but certainly not "copied from some other site".

Either way, I would appreciate suggestions for how to improve it, although, in case of poster web sites, thumbnail images of posters are *the* content. After all, people looking for movie posters --- as opposed to, for example, information about movies --- are interested in posters, not something else.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Best wishes,

Miroslav

So long as a site's primary purpose is to advertise somebody else's product for sale, our ONLY interest is learning how to spot and reject it quickly.

When you are targeting such an overcompetitive spam niche, you need something more than what you describe. And if you're using the word "unique" to refer to a list of actors for a movie, either you're using that word in a "unique" sense, or you haven't been using the internet much!

Please, promote your site somewhere else. Please consider this the final ODP advice.
