Yes, we help find categories for listable sites. Here's how it works.

You do your best job to find the best category. And we'll take it from there. If you guessed wrong, we'll find the right one.

Efficient, comprehensive, universal service, all through the suggestion process at dmoz.org.

Speaking as a user, I have to say that those types of sites are the stupidest things I've ever seen, like having a single free-for-all page of URLs of completely unrelated sites. As a user, they seem totally pointless.

Also as a user speaking: I don't get it, do people realy believe such a site will get many visitors who also will click massively on the adverts. If I wanted to advertise a site I can find many possibilities that will give me much more worth for my $.

For DMOZ there is IMHO a problem. We list only sites with unique content. Are empty pixels usefull and unique.

PR and backlinks. In another six months I think the majority of sites on the web will be sites likes these and directories, most of which will be pointing at each other. Snce we think ten times before listing directories, I think this type of sites would have the same low chances of acceptance.

[Don't take this personally, I own a few directories whose main purpose is Adsense and back-linking - but I don't submit them to ODP]

Ah, so not intended for users at all, just webmasters.

Less, I expect, since at least directories are categorized.

I agree. These are the most pointless sites on the Internet... right now. I'm sure in 3 months someone will come along and create something even more useless.
