Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question. I just found out that there is no editor for a particular catagory that I am interested in editing. I have applied but since there is no one there so get it it's going nowhere. How do I find out who is above that one? Here is what I'm interested in:

Thx

These forums are where you talk. Obviously you need to read the FAQ first, and after that no doubt you'll want to ask about this site in the "Submittal status" forum. We can move this thread there, and someone will, when you post the information we'll need in order to answer your question.

Hi, Thanks.

From what I've been told by another editor, the site is in limbo. Neither approved or declined. Will they be able to answer the question about becoming an editor there?

Applications to become an editor don't go to the category, they go into a central heap where they are evaluated by the metas. Category editors aren't involved in the process at all.

How does DMOZ ensure that editors are 'on the level' and above board?

I know some people becoming editors just to sneak in their own sites.

There is no perfect assurance.

Anyone can report bad edits (we have a forum for that). Meta-editors review all such reports, and if the edit is really inappropriate, will consider whether it is probably abuse or simple error.

The best approach is for many people who care about fairness to report problems they find.
