The concept "the editor for category" corresponds to nothing in the ODP model. Most low-level categories are edited from above. Most edits are done by active editors who may range over large sections of taxonomy -- and who choose their focus daily (or more often).
Each category may list editors (notice the plural!) at the bottom of the screen; you have no way of knowing how active they might be, so even if we had a concept of "THE editorS for a category", you still wouldn't know much.
You're assuming a level of micromanagement that simply doesn't exist -- if it's needed anywhere, it's not needed here.
