Hello,

I submitted my site <URL Removed> 4 months ago and I am still not listed. How lmuch longer?

Please have a read over our FAQ.

If I am rejected how do I know?

We do not usually inform sites owners if their site was accepted/rejected. If you have already suggested your site you have done everything you need to. It is best to forget about DMOZ now and look for other methods of promoting your website.

Thanks :)

Our Editing Guidelines and Site Selection Crieria are publicly avaialable, so should be able to judge for yourself whether or not your site is likely to be accepted when it is reviewed.

As the FAQ will tell you, review times vary enormously. If your site meets the above criteria and hasn't been listed yet, it's quite likely it's still waiting to be reviewed by an editor.

Don't want to sound cruel or uncaring, but ...

Of the three sites I've submitted over the past two years, only one is listed. There's nothing I can do to speed the process and wishing I could will only waste my time ... and possibly a good wish. ;)

As PhotoFox said, "It is best to forget about DMOZ now and look for other methods of promoting your website."

Yes. Some editors are VERY up on their categories. Some editors are more laid back. Some categories are not edited at all. Basically, the thing to keep in mind is that we are volunteers. We are doing the best job we can and we are contributing our time and mental faculties to make sure that submissions meet the standards of the directory.

If you wish to speed up the reviewal process, make sure that you submit your site to the correct category. If you submit to the right place the first time, you will reduce the amount of people involved in your submission. If you want to move out of the queue faster, submit to the right place the first time. Also remember to submit to World: if your site is not in English.
