I wondered why my site which is an authority on the wreck on the liberty ship
ss richard montgomery is after 3 years still not listed on DMOZ .
on the search page dmoz of other directory's It is listed in the top two on all other directories apart from wisenut which I am unsure of as I do not understand Japanese! I understand from other people this is the case with their sites as well. maybe somebody reading this could point it in the direction of the person or persons that deal with this sort of thing.
many thanks

If it is the site in your profile, I would not have listed in when I was an active editor.

One paragraph and a bunch of links does not constitute unique content. At least in my book it didn't.

Now, maybe an active editor would feel differently. That's why I'm retired.

constructive criticism is better than an unintended snub

what you say is very interesting and constructive. you are the first person who was/is connected with dmoz that has ever given any feedback whatsoever to me about a submission. This is what I think annoys people being left in limbo. most web masters send an email saying your site has been rejected & with or without reason this is simple politeness which may get them a link from a site that you run in the future,& they will not clog up your system by resubmitting again & again. The most important search engine to me, according to my site logs is google & as long as I am near or at the top I and others in the same situation are quite happy. I was told some time ago by somebody in the know that google may make an offer for dmoz when the time and price are right. This I think personally will be for the good of all!

You must deal with a different class of resubmitters than we do.

The best approach to handling people who're willing to work hard themselves to waste even more of your time, involves making their work less efficient, and your work more efficient.

If someone wants to get a bad reputation as a spoiled brat by, say, holding his breath until he gets what he wants, then ... let him hold his breath while you get on with whatever's worth doing.
