Why are we listed in one directory and not another?

Hi DMOZ volunteers,

I thought my site was not listed in DMOZ but after i waited a couple of years and try to apply again i was told by the form that my site already existed (to my surprise) YEAH!!!!!!!!

Here is my question:

What i am confused about is why my site shows up in one DMOZ directory and not another? :icon_ques

Here is an example of the two different directory links:

We are listed here:

http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/AudioVisual/Equipment/Audience_Response_Systems/

and not here:

http://www.google.com/Top/Business/...ioVisual/Equipment/Audience_Response_Systems/

If i try to update the google one it takes me to dmoz...

Can you please assist me in making sure both directories are in sync?

The first link you provided, http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/AudioVisual/Equipment/Audience_Response_Systems/ , leads to dmoz.org. The second one, http://www.google.com/Top/Business/...ioVisual/Equipment/Audience_Response_Systems/ , leads to google.com. So the second one is not a DMOZ directory (or category).

Google.com uses data from dmoz.org for their directory (as do many other sites). Google updates their directory from time to time, but nobody at dmoz.org has any especial knowledge or influence over when that will happen. We can't do anything about what you see in google.com if it is different from dmoz.org. You could try writing to Google and ask them to update their directory, but I rather doubt they would do anything about it. Still, it might be worth a try.
