Why Dmoz is closed?

Actually I am a food advisor for pets. you can check my work and advises at [url removed per forum rules]. I want to know that why Dmoz directories are closed now because I want to submit my site to directory so that people could check my work.​

I don't know. I suppose AOL needed to cut costs to impress their new owners. That's just my opinion; as far as I know no one's 100% sure why it was closed.

We're working on bringing the directory back under a new name, but it's not ready for URL suggestions yet. When it is we'll announce it here.

I'm sorry to say this, but we don't really know either. AOL decided to stop supporting the project, so it closed. We're trying to bring it back under a new name, but that takes time.
