Why is my site not listed?

I submitted my site (which I won't mention here) about 4 months ago (as soon as it opened).

I have since submitted it a couple more times (to the same category but with a different description, since that's the only reason I could think of that would get it rejected).

I'm 99% sure I've submitted it in the right directory, but I have not gotten any feedback as to why it was not listed.

there are about 50 other sites in that category and my site really belongs there

Any ideas what I can do, is there a way to find out why it's not being added?

Thanks a lot.

Ya done good.

Ya done not good.

I have not gotten any feedback

Nor should you expect any.

Any ideas what I can do

Do nothing else, you have done all that you can do and any further actions on your part will be counterproductive.

is there a way to find out why it's not being added

No, there is not.

The bottom line here is that one should read the guidelines then submit to the single best category. Then move on. There is nothing one can do to influence the process. We don;'t judge sites by the suggested description -- if we did them most sites would be declined. It simply takes however long it takes, is because this is not a listing service.

This is a point that has been suggested many times. We have taken a concious decision not to provide any feedback about whether or not websites have been approved or declined.

There are many reasons for this. Some reasons are:

  1. In the past we have provided status reports. In many cases this led to editors recieving hate mail and some even recieved threats to themselves and their families.
  2. Providing status reports to every site we suggest would greatly slow down the process meaning it would take longer for us to review your site
  3. Some people out there try to get around the system and try to trick us in to giving them multiple listings. Providing status reports would make it easier for these people to assess whether their attempts have been successful.

There are other reasons and it has been explained in much greater detail elsewhere on this site. If you are interested you can try reading this announcement or try the search page to find other posts on this topic.
