I submitted my site to ODP, probably 6 or 7 months ago. My main priority was to get listed in ODP... but what can i say, while i'm waiting for my site to get listed in ODP, all the other directories on the net have seamlessly listed my site, even some of them reviewed and ranked it. But for ODP, it's like shooting in the dark, no answers no nothing.
So my solution to ODP is.. why not atleast add a simple nPHP page.. where users like us can enter their URL and get the status? I'm sure it will not hurt the OPD's "complex" database system..!!!! atleast it will reduce the % of complains you guys get from people.

Please first read our FAQ about why we don't do this status stuff anymore.
Why can't we ask about the status of our site suggestions anymore?

And then do a search in R-Z to find many other postings about this same question and read all the answers given to this question.

This has been discussed over and over again and I see no need to repeat the same answers and arguements.

The light is the submittal policies. That's all the light you'll ever need, to know how to help the editors find your site.

Anything else ceases being a help, and is more like -- well, like shooting at editors in the dark. And since the vast majority of all submittals are from dedicated machine-gunners, you can see how light in the wrong place could be bad for honest people.

Which php page?
And what has adding advertisements (addsense or other) to do with the fact that we don't provide a status for site suggestions.

Maybe we'll think of another reason to keep it open. Followups in the internal forums.
