why the Directory never Reply About Status of a Website Summited?

We all agree that it takes time, and it cab be 2 years or maybe never, but why is not possible to find out if the site is been removed by a mistake or misunderstanding or else, is this because this directory is too big already? or because not enough editors or what is it?
