Will a 4th resubmission hurt my chances of being listed?

Hi,

I have submitted my site www.brightoninternationalfilmsociety.org in category
Arts: Movies: Organizations: Film Societies: United Kingdom 3 times in the last 5 months or so.

I have just resubmitted again a fourth time tonight and have only just noticed in the FAQ that I am only supposed to resubmit once ... will this somehow blacklist me?

I'll try to be a bit more patient in future ... :)

Regards

A re-submit to the same category just changes the submitted date; an editor looking for "old" submissions will miss yours because of the changed date. One more submission after 9 to 12 months is OK to guard against any accidents in losing a site. These are in the 0.1% chance, but no editor will think evil of someone who submits twice very many months apart, "just in case", or if content is "massively changed or improved". Don't submit again.

Sumission to multiple categories, or of multiple related URLs, on the other hand, can soon label you a spammer. If you have been doing that (that applies to people reading this thread in the future, too), then stop right now.

If the category has no editor, is it possible that I could become an editor of that category to get my site in, subject to meeting the approval of ODP ? Mine is a cinema interest/film society site and I have academic interest within cinema so I think I would qualify.

Fortunately, the category has several hundred editors, one of whom will revue your listing suggestion in due course. You need do nothing more.

Applying to become an editor just to list your own site will not impress the evaluating metas.
