Will not put my sites on

For 3 years on one site and a year on another I have tried to get on the open directory. We are a business, but we help a lot of people also. Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem. Beginning to believe the editor for our keywords has something to do with other competition we have in the area. We are number one in Google. Can't understand why they will not add us. web page
