Been submitted multiple times to multiple categories, and editors have been mole-whacking it. There's apparently at least one and probably two submittals left someshere. (Perhaps someone else will volunteer to load the unreviewed in that category and see if it's there...)

Thanks for the information.

Yes the site was submitted at various times and to no avail. I also send a few e-mail trying to connect with someone but this too was unanswered.

While I do understand that listing is subject to the decision of an editor, I also have grown surprised and frankly skeptical as to the fairness of the process in view of the way my requests have been ignored. Should this site and the service that we offer been borderline from whatever perspective one may want to look at it, I would be the first one to move on. However, in view of the other sites listed in our categories and the quality if site and service, I cannot stop wondering what are the criteria for selecting or not selecting site.

Finally, I do not know what you mean by "perhaps someone else will volunteer to load..." and wonder, with all due respect, how I should take this? Should I toss a coin or pray???

Thanks.

Lets' translate and explain

Yes the site was submitted at various times and to no avail.
But you submitted several times to several different categories - the instructions on suggesting a site told you not to do that.

to no avail. - not really from our point of view , editors spent time getting rid of your duplicate submissions e.g. mole-whacking - probably yes from your point of view, because the multiple submissions if they had any effect was to delay your review.

While I do understand that listing is subject to the decision of an editor,
Yes it is, but the editor has to review the sites first, other than mole-whacking your extras, no editor has actually reviewed your site.

I also have grown surprised and frankly skeptical as to the fairness of the process
Fairness on what process? - the process is that we let you suggest a site - that's all we do, is that not fair? We don't promise to look at your suggestion within any time frame, we actually tell you that we may not list submitted sites.
Should this site and the service that we offer been borderline from whatever perspective one may want to look at it, I would be the first one to move on. However, in view of the other sites listed in our categories and the quality if site and service, I cannot stop wondering what are the criteria for selecting or not selecting site.
Meaningless, since no editor has actually reviewed your site. If and when you get rejected, than you could ponder on the criteria, until that time, there are more productive things you can do to publicize your site in other avenues. If you have vague doubts that your site is borderline, then spend time fixing it before an editor reviews it.

Finally, I do not know what you mean by "perhaps someone else will volunteer to load..." and wonder, with all due respect, how I should take this?
It means there are a lot of sites to go through to find your site, whichever editor does it needs a high speed internet connection. You might iinfer that there are a lot of other sites in the category waiting for an editor to look at them.

Thanks for the reply and time spent explaining. Just to clarify... Initial aubmission was made in October of 2003... As you quote. Life is short - times for review may be longer....

At any rate thanks to DJDEEDS for offering to be the Masochist of the day.

Djdeeds only volunteered to do the status check. He didn't volunteer to review the hundreds of submissions that might be waiting in that category. On or after May 23rd (six months after the last status information) you may come back to this thread and ask for another status check. Then you will be informed whether djdeeds or another editor has reviewed your site yet or not.

Thanks for the input but....

I'm not sure what this means to you but "Perhaps someone else will volunteer to load the unreviewed in that category and see if it's there..." see if it's there seems to indicate my site? Yet again what do I know???

I don't mean to do an electronic dance on semantic and will check again in a few weeks. Count me in

Sorry for the confusion. What is so obvious to editors, and so widely described in public venues, may not be obvious to someone who hasn't read the FAQ or the submittal policies or the editors' guidelines or a few thousand forum posts.

Yes, the other editors have accurately interpreted my unintentionally cryptic partial status report.

On 23 November 2004 you have been told "The submission has been received and is awaiting review"
According to our forum guidelines you must wait a minimum of 6 months before asking for a new status.
23 November 2004 + 6 months = 23 May 2005
