For clarity, I know that there is a process for this...

The reason for posting here is that for a few years now our listing has been wrong... I have submitted several times the UPDATE LISTING form but to no avail.

The only reason I post here is moreso because GOOGLE still pulls in the DMOZ title in our tags sometimes.... - even when we tell it not to use ODP.

Our company is not ISOOSI Communications. We stopped being called that in 2005/6.

Please can a Meta admin look into why several submissions to the update listing page are not going through or are stuck in the editorial queue.

We have been patient and waited a few years for this.

I don't understand... were you meaning us game the system?

ISOOSI, LLC. is a totally different company than ISOOSI Web Directory, Inc.

ISOOSI, LLC (www.isoosi.net) has different management different website. It was incorporated in 2003.

ISOOSI Web Directory Inc, was incorporated in 2011.

The ISOOSI logo and name is trademarked and belongs to ISOOSI Web Directory, Inc.

They are totally different websites... So, if you are implying I was gaming the system by your post I would like to know. I would then also like an apology.

I had had a few conversations with Robert Whittaker and other editors a while back about our listing and problems with the search function on DMOZ. I did other posts about it.

I have been patient and waited a number of years mind.

I would like to get it corrected and do know the usual route but nothing I seem to do works. Update URL, Suggest URL.

I do know as you often state that the link from DMOZ is like any other link - however GOOGLE is using the title of it in our TITLE tags still after all these years and that is not the name of the company.

<URL removed>

Company is not ISOOSI Communications..... it stopped being called that back in 2005.

It is ISOOSI Web Directory.

Here is the link to our company registration:

<URL removed>

I submitted the change in category and description and new TITLE several times over 3 years but to no avail.

Before replying as such it would be wise not to always assume that folks are gaming the system.

Our companies spend a lot of money on trademark attorneys, legal fees and other associated costs each year and your comment strikes me the wrong way.

Just because you may have to deal with people who try to game the system daily - you should not paint all people with the same brush!.

Great - so now I have just checked and you have removed <URL removed> totally from DMOZ.

I had done exactly as Chaos had told me way back and done the UPDATE LISTING and that didn't work... then SUGGEST URL.... that didn't work.

Now, you have totally removed it.

Why? We are not gaming the system and I have shown you that the two are totally different websites in different categories of business - one registered in 2003 and one formed in 2006 and registered in the USA in 2011.

I'd like an explanation from the META team about your accusation and I would like an apology.

I have no idea what the details of your complaint are and, since we don't discuss the details of specific websites here, I shan't be looking into them. However, let me quote from the second paragraph of our Submission Guidelines which you've already agreed on several occasions.
We aren't a search engine and pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should the site not be accepted.
Further, no website is guaranteed a permanent listing here.

I'm closing this thread because it's serving no useful purpose. Do not start another one on the same topic.

If you believe there's been editorial abuse, the proper thing to do is follow the report abuse/spam link at the top of the relevant category page.

PS. I just checked some of the listings within your web directory and many of them were written by me. It's very clear that you've imported DMOZ data (which is fine) without the required accreditation (which isn't). For this reason alone, your directory is unlistable.
