My site http://www.maisiefantaisie.co.uk is listed in Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: England: London: Lambeth: Business and Economy. I supply to the whole of the united kingdom and when i am commisioned, also overseas. Other companies such as 'classic cakes' are listed in Business: Food and Related Products: Baked Goods and also in Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: England: Hampshire: Gosport: Business and Economy. Or 'cakes by ann' who are listed in Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Scotland: South Lanarkshire: Hamilton and also in Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Food: Confectionery . Why is it so difficult for me to be listed in a non-regional category? such as Business: Food and Related Products: Baked Goods. I have applied for one before but i've had no response and i'm worried that if i apply again i will be excluded from the directory completely. Basically i don't offer a regional service. We are a nationwide company.

Without looking at your website, I believe that the Lambeth entry you have reflects your actual location. So if you are not in Lambeth, :) please use the update listing to point this out.

However I believe you mean you would rather have a listing now under your topic than one now under your location.:) I'm afraid we can't do swapping :)

You seem to say you have suggested it to under Business: Food and Related Products: Baked Goods. As a UK company I think you can also suggest it to the same/similar category under Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy.

Many of the things implicit in your post are covered in our FAQ

The most likely reason why anyone's site has not been listed in a category is because it has not been reviewed yet for that category. How long it will be before it is reviewed is unpredictable. The timescales for an individual category can seem a long time but the directory as a whole is growing at a steady rate (plugs ODP Report)

The most important point about resubmitting is that there is no point in doing so. We don't penalise people for making a single resubmission just to be sure it got through but it won't speed things up.

So there is nothing more to do to get your site listed.

Your site has the possibility of several listings.

It can be listed in your locality if defined. I note that there isn't an address on the website so I suggest that you add one before some editor notices and removes your Lambeth listing which would appear to have been a mistake.

It can be listed within a UK/Shopping category if it conforms to the standard UK/Shopping requirements. These are defined here and can be paraphrased as
The key is that the site contains three elements: (1) lists of products for sale, (2) prices and (3) information on how the consumer can obtain the product from their own home.
It can be listed within Shopping if it meets those same requirements and also ships to more than one country.

If your site doesn't meet the UK/Shopping or Shopping requirements and you demonstrably ship widely, A listing within Business or within UK/Business and Economy might be appropriate.
