Hi id like to check to see what is going on concerning my site being listed in ODP.

I submitted http://www.australianairbrushedtattoos.com to the category http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Niche/Bodyart/Bodypainting/ late last year, early this year and again a few weeks ago.

But it seems the category has not been altered in the last 12 months.

You are right, but anyway only a small amount of submissions is waiting (including yours). So resubmission is unnecessary.

Please stop submitting doorways - we won't list them anyway. Quite possible that the editor who removed those submission lost the fun in editing in that particular category afterwards.

My apologies in advance if this is true.

Just wondering what will happen now with that category, will I have to wait for another editor be assigned to it?
Or will the submissions go to the editor above that category?

I'm feeling expansive this afternoon, so....

www.australianairbrushedtattoos.com is never going to get listed in a Shopping category in its current form, as there is no product catalogue, prices, method of purchase, or mention of delivery area.

In fact it's a bit hard for me to categorise - if there was more information on your licensees and store localities, it might be appropriate for a Regional listing. It also may be appropriate for Business somewhere possibly http://dmoz.org/Business/Opportunities/Franchising/Franchises/ or at least in that area.

Either way it probably needs content that fits the category.

For Business - more info on the actual franchise operation (if that's what it actually is)

For Shopping - product list, prices, mention of delivery area (must be contiguous USA or International)

For Regional - physical locations, information on franchisees or stall locations.

To me the site has general info on product types, but no actual products. It appears to be selling franchises, but does not offer any information on the site regarding these 'business opportunities'.

One other possible interpretation is that you are a product wholesaler.

If I'm confused, what are your site viewers impressions?

PS Regarding doorways - you have another domain that has minimal content and serves to lead people to this URL, thus the doorway nomenclature.

Your advice is great, I will see what I can do about getting more related content on the site for one of those categories.

I think I may also remove all links from that doorway page, as it's not really supposed to be a doorway, more of an independant site for public information, our community service to people learning to do airbrush tats.
