Re: Indian Dance Site Status
A 'few days' is far too early to make enquiries. Most sites take a few months to be reviewed, unless you happen to submit to an area that has very active editors who have very little submissions, or more correctly very little spam or junk submissions.
The site has not been reviewed yet. I cannot see the unreviewed queue from here, but the site has not been moved or deleted from wherever you submitted it to. My best advice is to give it a month or so then enquire again.
We do not use these fora as an opportunity to 'jump the queue'. An editor will eventually visit that category and review all of the sites there at the same time. Most editors do one of two things as their first priority: either list all the sites that look easy to review - ones with a nicely written Title and Description that already fits the submission Guidelines, or else go through and delete all the spam submissions first.

I haven't reviewed the site for content. It is nowhere near where I edit, so not very useful for me to do so. However, I am impressed that you have made a good attempt to write valid and well-formed HTML code for your site (at least on the front page, which is all I checked). Your site should work in any browser. Reviewers often have sites that fail to display in their browser, so they leave it for someone else to do later. The !DOCTYPE you have used (4.0) has been withdrawn by W3C, and should be changed to HTML 4.01 in that heading <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> . Just one small HTML typo on your front page!
Validation Results. Don't forget to add a Character Set Declaration as well. Valid HTML is _NOT_ necessary for your site to be listed in the ODP, but nearly always makes the reviewing editors job that much easier.
It's down to the reviewing editor to judge whether your site is useful, has unique content, and is worth listing. Since your site also has products for sale, someone may suggest that it go in the Shopping/ tree, rather than Arts/ however I will leave that for someone else to decide, as I am not familiar with all the guidelines within the Arts/ tree. It is important not to resubmit the site as each submission takes you to the back end of the queue each time; and it is imperative not to submit to multiple categories as this is seen as spam and ends up with all of it being deleted. Be patient, and wait for someone to have a look for you. If you see no change in say 4 to 6 weeks then post again in this thread (rather than starting a new one).
The one exception to submitting multiple times, is if you wish to have an additonal listing under the Regional/ tree. You are allowed to do this. Submit to the locality where you are based, not where your target audience may be (and ensure your physical address and contact details are easy to find on the site).
