Last update was May 14. The site has been submitted before; didn't make the May 14 cut. (I think maybe I boo-booed on the description.)

Any idea when the next update rolls around for this category?

The site you mentioned has not been reviewed yet. The category you submitted to has an editor and has about 80 sites in the que waiting. It looks like it might be a while.

We aren't an automated directory or such, we're human volunteers. *smile* We update when we get the time to volunteer, not on any set date. If we try to set a date, then life just might get in the way.

How long is too long?

It's been months since the site was first submitted. I don't know the exact reason it wasn't included the first go-'round. Contacting the editors has gleaned nothing.

I could try submitting it to another category, I suppose. However, I don't want to resubmit if it's still in the queue and there is no other category that suits the site so well.

Receiving good traffic from all engines - including those with Dmoz results - so not being listed has in no way been detrimental. I just happen to like Dmoz /images/icons/smile.gif and wonder...

when does one give up and move on to another category?

I cant see the unreviewed queue, but the site has not been edited as far as I can see. i.e. it has not been moved to another category, it has not been reviewed, and has not been deleted. I would therefore assume it is still awaiting review in whatever cat you submitted to.

Please don't submit to another category as this can just delay listing further as then it has to be edited in the new category, then it will probably be sent to the original category to wait agaiin if, as you say, no other category fits as well.

Unfortunately shopping, business, and computers seem to get large amounts of spam and it takes a very long time to get listed in one of the main categories. I'm not sure where you submitted, but hang in there - it will get reviewed.

Just checked the unreviewed queue for that category, and your site is there, along with 50+ others (I'm currently pruning the inappropriate submissions).

Graci. It helps a great deal just to know it's still waiting in the queue. Takes away some of the mystery /images/icons/wink.gif, but it helps to know the disposition of a submission once it's entered (there, not there, denied), which is the whole reason behind this particular forum, eh?
