Nothing new about it unfortunately. That area of the directory could sure need additional good editors.

Hi,

I assume that there is still a back log?

I saw that you metioned that this category needed editors, so I replied. Unfortunately I was rejected, wish I knew why.

Yep, you're still waiting with more than 30 others, and the area is still backlogged.

As for the rejection, I have no idea and no way to get any more information (I'm not a meta). However, reading the posts in the "Becoming an Editor" forum might give you some clues about common reasons for rejection (I don't know if any of them would apply to you). You could also post there if you had a specific question about your application.

Submit the site; volunteer to edit.

There really aren't any other options. Legal or social pressure _will_ be counterproductive, bribe attempts may result in permanent bans.

I actually did volunteer, but was rejected three times. I just received the form letter rejection, no specifics.
