For your reference, the "official" site is dmoz.org, not dmoz.net.

There is a rather lengthy queue in that category, yours being one of them.

Try not to keyword stuff the descriptions you submit. While I don't normally edit in the category, something like the following will be removed from the description, especially since at least one is duplicated... "Yanmar, Omap, Delphi, Bosch, Lucas, Denso, Stanadyne, Yanmar, Zexcel, L'Orange, and Racor."

Thank you for your reply. The repeat of Yanmar was in error and I appologise, but I cannot see how a list of manufacturers can be described as a list of keywords. Possibly you could expand on that? I see it more as a help to searchers who are looking for specific services available for a specific manufacturers product.
A repeat of fuel injection, fuel, injection, injectors, fuelinjectors would I believe be a repeat of keywords.

You mean that you see it more as a list of the sort of words a searcher might type in to find a specific site? Yes, so do we, and we call that a "keyword list". Keywords get removed when an editor reviews a site, so submitting a list like that won't get you a higher placement for keyword searches, it'll just result in an editor tutting as he/she sees yet another spam filled title.

That is an interesting definition of a spam filled title. I reiterate, "A repeat of fuel injection, fuel, injection, injectors, fuelinjectors would I believe be a repeat of keywords." a list of manufacturers that you supply services for is an aid to searchers so that they end up getting the services they need. If I have a Yanmar engine that needs fuel injection work, searching and finding a shop that repairs a different manufacturer fuel injector is a waste of my time.
Furthermore the words are not in the title, where there would be an argument that they were spam, but are in the description.
Having said all of that, and being in total disagreement with your assessment, I recognise that the ODP is your organisation and you can have whatever guidelines you wish. I leave it to your editors to "tone down" the description as you deem necessary...which you will with or without my approval regardless. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
My original question though remains unanswered...How do I change the URL that the site is now pointing to on your system...it is a mirror of the actual site address for some of the northern canadian clients. What needs to be done is to delete the mirror and replace with the base url.
Your assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Ah, but you overlook one small but important detail. The ODP is not a search engine, it is a directory. Search engines make heavy use of keywords. The ODP organises sites into categories in a heirarchical tree, and therefore has no need of using keywords. Users do not find sites by using keywords they find them by navigating to the correct category.

As for your main question, how to update a URL, well, you go to the ODP category where the site is listed and click on the 'Update URL' button, fill in the form, and submit it. You also need to have a message on the old site which states (or redirects) to the new site, so that the editor can verify that this is a legitimite change.

Now that is a good response...and one I should have thought of myself.
Thank you for the information on updating the site also.
