www.hawgbuster.com "fishing lures" wrong cat&desc

Hi dmoz gods

I think I shot myself in the foot. When I was first new to site submissions, I eagerly submitted www.hawgbuster.com to Shopping>Recreation>Outdoors>Fishing>Lures which at the time made sense to me, because I was trying to make some online sales... I have come to realize however that the site is not a "shopping site", although I do have a small ordering system for people who don't have our tackle locally, the site is a "company site" which is showcasing our lures (because our primary function is manufacturing them to sell to distributors).

So I would like to move hawgbuster.com into: Recreation>Outdoors>Fishing>Equipment>Lures>Freshwater

My other problem is in my original submission I must have gone overboard with the submission, because the editor changed it to "Bass fishing bait company". I've been studying the dmoz guidelines, and I think the description is violating it. It is basically repeating the title "Hawg Buster Bait Company". Although our company name includes "bait company", the description makes it sound like we're a bait shop, which we're not (and we don't have one).

Before I have tried to update the description on dmoz, haven't received a response yet and I'm assuming I'm at the end of the queue, but then I tried to resubmit the site from scratch in the appropriate category, but then somebody pointed out that you can do that in the update.

Whoops!

Can someone help me out? thanks

Sorry, I started to reply to this post earlier but my browser crashed in the middle of it and I never got back to it.

Since you do offer online Shopping, your site is appropriate for the category it is currently in. Now, as a manufacturer of lures as well as a seller, it's possible you might be eligible for listing in the Recreation category as well but that's really not my neck of the woods.

Many of the other sites listed in that category have some form of online shopping as well. Originally I thought I was in the most appropriate category but after looking at the competition, I realized ... wait a minute...

I just checked my listing. Looks like the description was changed. It's now:

"Manufacturer of bass fishing lures. Includes product information, company FAQs, and contact details."

The second sentence is a bit different then what I put for the update URL, but that's a very decent description. Perhaps I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, and accept this the way it is. I'll let you dmoz gods go back to work now.

The editors do their best to describe what the company does, and what is on the website. We don't take account of your business model; we just use the information that the website gives. Always ensure that your site accurately represents whatever it is that you do, and your ODP description should be fair and accurate as well.

I'll say, since you didn't give a second sentence at all.

Oh. Well that explains it.

I just wanted to inquire about something I noticed - one of my competitor's has two listings, one ins the Shopping category that I'm currently in and one in the Equipment category I was talking about.

www.yamamoto.baits.com/order Makers of soft plastic baits for bass offers hard baits and tackle
www.yamamoto.baits.com Manufacturer of salt impregnated soft. Tournament tested and proven. Secure online ordering.

Are those 2 listings okay to have in this situation? If so I'm wondering if I'd be able to do that, since my store is in a sub directory as well...
